Basic utility for linux

Solaris

1. Viewing the total physical memory size
    prtconf -v | grep Mem

2.Viewing system load and CPU usage by different process
    prstat, top

3.Last logged in user in your system or system uptime and downtime
    last|more

4. To investigate system errors
   /var/adm/messages, /var/log/syslog

5.To view the system's listening ports
   netstat -f inet -an | grep LISTEN
